Catalogue No. 2235
This is an early 20th century (c.1920) mahogany Georgian style pie crust tripod table. The table stands on a broad swept tripod base. The knees of the legs are carved with acanthus leaf decoration. The top has been cut from a single piece of mahogany with a deeply cut and well defined hand carved pie crust edge. (The poorer quality examples have the pie crust edge applied to a flat top. This example is carved from a solid slab of timber, leaving no joints in the top or around the outer edge). The top tilts by means of a brass fitting. The table is of excellent quality, colour and size.
