This is an early 19th century (c.1820) mahogany secretaire chest of drawers. The chest stands on splayed bracket feet, joined with a shaped apron. The top drawer front drops via internal brass hinges to reveal the secretaire section, consisting of an arrangement of five small drawers around four pigeon holes and a central space for files etc. The writing surface is lined with green baize. There are a further three long drawers. The chest is in good condition.
